Aqua Gastronomy

What is it?

It is a unique dining experience at the Ocean Restaurant in the SEA Aquarium on Sentosa. Experience is the right word too – it is multi sensory dining with tasty culinary artistry combined with a beautifully decorated room with the aquarium open ocean habitat in front of you. It is visually stunning.

There are 8 ‘sea bubble’ pods seating up to a maximum of 5 guests (the maximum currently allowed by the government during Phase 2 of the Circuit Breaker). There are also some decorated tables at the back for parties of less than 5 people. We took a table as there were just 3 of us. It doesn’t matter where you dine as the view is the same and diners can leave their seats (masked up) to view the Open Ocean Habitat up close; which is worth doing when the divers are feeding the rays for example.

Each dish was introduced by the ‘Lady of the Ocean’ in a soothing light voice explaining the dishes. The ambient lighting changed for each dish / course served. The tastes and textures of each dish were a sensation too. Four small courses were served and it was a filling (but not overly so) meal.

I would highly recommend trying this unique dining experience – we thoroughly enjoyed it.

It opened on 28th August and is open until 31st October. Dining is Friday to Tuesdays (closed on Wednesday and Thursdays). It is already fully booked until the end of September. Dining was from 7-9pm. In October there will be two seatings, the first from 6-8pm and the second from 8:30-10:30pm.

How much?

S$98 plus taxes (17%) per person for a four course set menu. (S$114.66 per person including taxes). Drinks were extra.

Dietary requirements are catered for.
