What’s this about?
My friend Prabhu, from Bible College in India, now is a pastor of a church. The congregation are all daily wage labourers and have lost their jobs and income. He has set up a fundraiser on Ketto, with my help, so that he can buy essential food supplies so they don’t starve. Please help if you can. Any amount will have an immediate beneficial impact.
Please note that Ketto is waiving its fee for this fundraiser.
Why is this needed?
Prabhu is raising funds to provide rice, vegetables, and groceries to the daily wage workers in the congregation – all of whom have lost their jobs and income due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Prabhu is raising funds to support the congregation for 1 month. So that they will be able to at least feed themselves and their children. They are in a very difficult situation and Prabhu is trying to help them. (Please note that Prabhu himself does not receive a salary for his work as Pastor to the church).
They have 40 families in the congregation so he is fundraising to support all these families. Many families have not eaten for days and those who do have small amounts of food are feeding their small children and going without food themselves. He is aiming to raise 3000 Rupees (S$35 / £31) per family which will support them for 1 month.
What will the money buy?
1.Rice bag INR 1300
2. Vegetables INR 600
3.Groceries INR 800
4.Fruit INR 300
Total: INR 3000
This is a small amount of money that can keep a family alive for a month. Every donation really will make a huge difference.
