#40acts – Meet Up

Today’s verse

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…”
(1 Peter 4:9–10 NIV)

Today’s Options

GREEN OPTION:
Offer to share your table, wherever that might be.

AMBER OPTION:
Send round the invitations to your place and get the kettle on or arrange a meet up at a café. If you get tongue-tied when it comes to talking about your faith, the Talking Jesus course will help.

RED OPTION:
Offer your home to meet up once a week through Lent, and perhaps beyond – you could use our 40acts small group studies as a focus. Also, HOPE’s giveaway magazine HOPE for All makes a great conversation starter with guests – leave a copy on your coffee table.

What did I do?

This is super easy one for me. I love having people round for tea and cakes. I’ve invited friends and neighbours over, both impromptu and planned, and generally find any excuse to gather people to share food. Great relationships are always made with food. Everyone like to enjoy trying different homemade delights.

I do the red option nearly every week. Our cell/net/home group meets at our place every Friday evening and I prepare a section of goodies. We enjoy fellowship and study around the table of treats. It’s fabulous and I love hosting.

Today specifically though is the green option. We’ve invited friends over for dinner and we’re preparing a roast with all the trimmings. (I say ‘we’ but actually my husband loves making the roast dinner). Our daughter has made chocolate chip muffins with a chocolate and mini egg topping with chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. I’ve prepared the starters and the cheese board. It will be a feast!
